Ruptura directors collaborate with Opinion accepted by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights

At the invitation of Professor Dr. Wanda Helena Mendes Muniz Falcão, Ruptura's directors Leura Dalla Riva, Artur Bernardo Milchert and Sabrina Lehnen Stoll participated in the preparation of the Opinion submitted by the organization Direito Internacional sem Fronteiras (DIsF) and the Cátedra Jean Monnet of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) in the request for an Advisory Opinion formulated by Chile and Colombia on "Climate Emergencies and Human Rights" to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.

The states' request aims to elucidate the individual and collective responsibilities of the state in the face of the climate emergency in the context of international human rights law, considering the distinct impacts on people from different regions and population groups, as well as their impact on nature and human survival on our planet.

We would like to thank you for the opportunity to collaborate on the written observations (opinion). We congratulate the entire team and the coordinators of the initiative: Vinicius Villani Abrantes (DIsF Director General), Claudia Loureiro (Jean Monnet Chair/UFU Coordinator) and Matheus Presotto e Silva (Working Group Coordinator).
